Konavle Ethnographic Museum was founded in 1974. And is located in the center of Čilipi in a great stone house built in 1909. Until the Homeland War in 1991. when it completely burned down, the Museum has been organized as a typical Konavle house.
Fortunately, all exhibits, archives of the School and the Rectory as well as church gathering clothes and items were hidden into the tank - cistern and thus saved from the burning and looting.
These exhibits, as cultural remnants, today represent a permanent ethnographic exhibition of male and female folk costumes, embroidery and textile products of Konavle, jewelry, weapons, paintings, utilitarian objects and musical instruments as well as a large number of photos.
